Gonzalo Iturregui-Gallardo is an Associate Lecturer at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Barcelona, Spain. He holds a BA in English and French Studies, with a minor in German, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, as well as an MA in Translation Studies from the University of Leicester, UK. In his bachelor and master’s dissertations, his research focused on dubbing and its phonetic and linguistic aspects. The Catalan Government awarded him a scholarship to study a PhD with the TransMedia Catalonia research group at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, within the NEA (New Approaches to Accessibility) project. His thesis centred on the implementation and delivery of audio subtitling for blind and partially sighted audiences. He combines his teaching duties with freelance work as a translator, subtitler, and audio describer, mostly in the field of the performing arts.
