The University of Cordoba is pleased to invite you to the International Staff Week “On-Campus Internationalization” taking place from 22nd to 26th April 2024
Internationalization at home refers to the integration of the international and intercultural dimension into the mission and strategies of an educational institution, with the objective of enriching the educational experience of all students without the need for them to physically travel abroad. This meeting aims to maximize the benefits of internationalization within the local context of the institution:
Sharing best practices and experiences: Universities can exchange successful initiatives and lessons learned in the process of implementing IeC, thus facilitating the adoption of effective strategies by other institutions.
Foster inter-institutional collaboration: Establish networks and alliances between national and international universities to develop joint projects, double degree programs, collaborative online courses, joint research, among others.
Develop intercultural competencies in the university community: Identify and promote activities that allow students, faculty and administrative staff to acquire intercultural skills, such as workshops, conferences with international guests, cultural festivals, among others.
Integrate the international dimension in the curriculum: Seek strategies to incorporate international content, perspectives and approaches in the study programs, so that students can acquire a global understanding of their field of study. Promote virtual mobility: Encourage participation in virtual academic exchange programs, online collaborative projects and other international learning opportunities that do not require physical travel.
Increase diversity on campus: Attract international students, scholars and researchers to campus, as well as foster inclusion and respect for cultural diversity among all members of the university community.
Strengthen language skills: Offer language programs and promote the learning of foreign languages as an essential tool for intercultural communication and access to global knowledge.
Promote social responsibility and global engagement: Develop projects and programs that address global challenges from a local perspective, promoting social awareness and the university community's commitment to sustainable development and global citizenship.
Evaluate and continuously improve IeC strategies: Establish monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to measure the impact of internationalization initiatives at home, allowing for constant adjustments and improvements in the strategies adopted.
Staff and faculty training: Develop training programs for staff and teachers in internationalized teaching methods, use of technologies for distance collaboration, and strategies for managing cultural diversity in the classroom.
