JUSTIFICATION OF THE DEGREE
This Degree in Tourism conveys multiple professional, scientific, and formative courses, each of them with their own specific profile and concrete features. Today multidimensionality of tourism shapes the approaches and diverse scientific perspectives here utilized to enrich the student’s academic experience, ranging from territorial planning and economic analysis to business management, service marketing, cultural and psychosocial components of the sector, and its legal norms regulating the activity, among many others.
The globalization of tourism activities is giving birth to new markets and, thus, to an increasing level of competitiveness among destinations, which is unquestionably achieved by offering innovative and enhanced tourist’s experiences filled with novel products and services. This business context demands continuous training, skilled professionals, and highly qualified personnel, both for public and private management. Indeed, the territorial presence of our Degree in Tourism enables the permanent acquisition of cutting-edge knowledge within the following areas:

RULES TO REMAIN AS A STUDENT (FAQs)
According to the Academic Regulations of Official Degree Studies at the University of Córdoba (approved by the Governing Council on 19/07/2019, modified by the Governing Council on 02/07/2020):
- What types of enrollments does the University of Córdoba allow?
The student can opt for one of the following enrollment modalities:- Full-time enrollment: When new students enroll in a minimum of 60 ECTS credits and a maximum of 78 ECTS credits.
For continuing studies, students enrolling in a minimum of 37 credits and a maximum of 78 credits will be considered full-time. Enrollment in more than 78 credits is allowed in cases of exceptional academic performance. - Part-time enrollment: When, for justified reasons (work, family responsibilities, special educational needs, residence, etc.), students are authorized to enroll in between 24 and 36 credits for undergraduate studies, and between 30 and 36 credits for master's studies. Part-time enrollment must be requested at the secretary's office at the time of enrollment.
- Full-time enrollment: When new students enroll in a minimum of 60 ECTS credits and a maximum of 78 ECTS credits.
- Is it possible to change the enrollment modality?
The change can only be requested at the time of formalizing a new enrollment; that is, it is not possible during the academic year. If the requested change is from full-time to part-time enrollment, an initial minimum enrollment of 37 credits must be made, which will then be adjusted to part-time within the period indicated in the resolution of the partial enrollment request. If the adjustment is not made within the indicated period, it is understood that the change of modality is waived. If, on the other hand, there is a change from part-time to full-time enrollment, it will only be necessary to communicate it to the secretary's office of the center and it will have immediate effects. - How many examination opportunities does a student have to pass each subject?
Each student has six examination opportunities for the final evaluation of each subject. - When is an examination opportunity considered used?
Only when the student has participated in the evaluation process. - What happens if the 6 examination opportunities are used and the subject has not passed?
According to the Academic Regulations for first and second cycle studies at the University of Córdoba (article 44), students who utilize the six examination opportunities may request an extraordinary examination opportunity. The request will be addressed to the Dean of the center, who will resolve it according to the rules of the aforementioned regulations. The study and resolution of the request will be carried out by a Commission formed for this purpose, made up of members from the different levels of the University (detailed in article 47 of the Regulations). - How many credits must a student pass to be able to continue their studies?
The student enrolled for the first time in the first year, both bachelor's and master's, must pass a minimum of six credits to retain the right to continue their studies.
In the case of not exceeding six credits in the first year, a new enrollment in the new studies may be requested, exceptionally and just once, if the student proves the existence of justified causes. - How many years can an undergraduate student stay studying at a center or faculty?

The student who has a maximum of 15% of the credits remaining to obtain the degree may advance the call for an exam in accordance with the UCO Academic Regime Regulations.
